    In poker, why aren't players allowed to discuss the hand in play?

    Why do I get reprimanded even if all I'm talking about is the cards on the board? Come on, the First Amendment lets me say anything I want, why can't I say anything about the hand? The odds are the same whether people know a card has been folded or not,

    You are never allowed to discuss the hand in play with your partner. You can't show, talk about hint or joker about your hand. Talking in code or using signals or chip placing is very much against the rules. I don't think I can be clearer about this.

    there was a prize offered by one of the online poker sites, that if you made it to the final table, AND you got a Royal Flush AND it was in spades, you would get $100,000,000 dollars. Now, keep in mind that there are now anywhere from 7 to 10,000 entrants,

    It's not bogus but of course that prize shouldn't be the motivation for entering the tournament, because you're obviously unlikely to ever win it in your lifetime.

    You could estimate (very roughly) by saying everyone has an equal chance.
